Agar Agar Jelly - the BEST ever!

– Agar agar powder    (unsweetened and      unflavored) – Granulated sugar – Water Optional – Rose essence – Pink food coloring – Edible gold flakes (for decoration)

Prepare the molds. Wash and pat them dry and set aside while you cook the jelly.

Mix agar-agar powder and sugar until well combined.  This step helps in avoiding the powder from clumping when added into the water.

Measure water into a medium sized pot. Add the jelly-sugar mixture and stir to disperse the sugar and jelly.

Place the pot on low heat and cook the jelly for about 5 to 8 minutes. Stir constantly.

Once the jelly starts to boil, turn off the heat. Add the rose essence and color.  Mix well.

Pour the jelly into the prepared molds.  Let them cool down slightly before transferring to the fridge to set completely (for about 1 to 2 hours).

Keep the jelly chilled until ready to serve. Also keep any leftovers in the refrigerator. Enjoy!
